Integrated Answering Machine

For certain discontinued models of the IVX C-Class and legacy IVX S-Class systems only.

Notes:

See also this page for more information about voice messaging configurations for IVX S-/C-Class systems.

References to the ESI Cordless Handset apply to only the original ESI Digital Cordless Handset. (The ESI Digital Cordless Handset II works with only ESI Communications Servers.)

If you’re unsure about which ESI phone system you have and/or whether you have access to the Integrated Answering Machine, consult your System Administrator.

The Integrated Answering Machine can record up to two simultaneous calls. When a message is left, the VOICE MAIL key on the ESI Feature Phone will light; the envelope icon will appear on the ESI Cordless Handset. (References to the VOICE MAIL key refer to the 24- and 48-Key Feature Phones; on a 12-Key Feature Phone, you must have assigned one of the programmable feature keys to be a Voice Mail key.) Messages can be retrieved by any authorized ESI Phone or remotely from an off-premises location. Only one user can access the mailbox at a time. The system can also be programmed to call an off-premises number to deliver messages.

The first member in the Master List is allowed to program the Integrated Answering Machine via the PROGRAM key. This station is designated as the Master Station. All other users will only be able to play and delete messages. A Feature Phone or ESI Cordless Handset can be installed on an extension in the Master List. However, a 24- or 48-Key Feature Phone must be on the extension designated as the Master Station.
