Connecting your
ESI Feature Phone

Depending on which ESI Feature Phone you have, use the appropriate diagram (below) to connect it. Each diagram represents the panel on the phone’s underside.

Notes:

When the phone is in the highest upright position, use the wall-mount hook located under the handset to secure the handset when you’re not using the phone.
 
The “Top of phone” and “Bottom of phone” references in these diagrams show the correct vertical orientation of the phone — i.e., the part with the display is the top.

In addition to how the 48-Key Feature Phone connects to the handset and line cord, note that the 48-Key Digital Feature Phone accepts a 60-Key Expansion Console cable (included with each Console) which uses standard RJ-11 telephone connectors.

48-Key IP Feature Phone II

IP Phone connections

For use with only ESI Communications Servers.

In addition to the details mentioned previously for the other IP Feature Phone versions*, each IP Feature Phone II uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) when possible to access AC power over the LAN without need for a separate power supply.

However, if the phone is installed at a remote location or anywhere else that PoE isn’t available, use the included power supply to receive AC power from a regular power jack. (If you don’t know whether PoE is available for your use, consult your System Administrator or your Certified ESI Reseller.)
